FAQs

WHAT IS A MEDICAL ALERT SYSTEM?

Wearable help pendants and round-the-clock expert monitoring are both features of a medical alert system. Users push their device in an emergency to call for assistance. An emergency contact or a friend or family member can be contacted by operators. So that you may obtain assistance no matter what, we provide three different service options: Belle (mobile), Belle X (mobile with fall detection), and In the Home (landline required).

WHO HELPS ME DURING AN EMERGENCY?

Life Alert Solutions 24-hour operators respond to the alarm in an emergency and will speak with you over the speaker on the Belle, Belle X, or on the console for the In-Home system. Depending on the urgency of the issue, operators may send emergency services or call a friend or relative. Up to four personal emergency contacts, such as a friend, neighbor, or family member, can be added to each account.

HOW DOES FALL DETECTION WORK?

Fall detection devices are designed to recognize when a user falls and, in the absence of further movement, automatically send an alarm to the monitoring center. Automatic fall detection is designed for severe falls in which the victim is unconscious and immobile. Clients are constantly reminded to push their button to summon assistance if they are able.

HOW ARE BELLE & BELLE X DEVICES ABLE TO CONNECT? DOES IT REQUIRE A CELL PHONE TO WORK?

The Belle and Belle X devices are entirely stand-alone systems; thus, a user does not need to have a landline, a cell phone, or Wi-Fi in order to use them. When AT&T or Verizon coverage is available, these devices operate like a cell phone. Although AT&T is always an option if that network performs better in your location of the United States, Life Alert Solutions normally chooses Verizon as its primary carrier.
